Anyang KGC is the inaugural champions of the East Asian Super League Champions Week after the team won against Seoul SK Knights last Sunday. The tournament had eight teams from five different countries.
Eight teams were from Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan, Korea, and Hong Kong. Also, they were divided into two groups for the group stage. The teams played two games each. Ultimately, two KBO squads bested the rest of the teams to qualify for the EASL final match.

Kim Sun-hyung of the Knights scored 12 points in the third quarter, but KGC still managed to maintain their lead. The score at the end of the period was 66–61.

Spellman, who scored 19 points on Sunday, was a significant factor in the victory and was subsequently voted Most Valuable Player of the EASL Champions Week. On Saturday, he scored 53 points single-handedly when his team faced off against the Filipino squad Beerman.
