According to their latest forecast, 1 in 5 American adults will be place a bet on Super Bowl LVII. This amounts to a total of 50.4 million people betting on football with bookmakers and amongst friends and family.

Part of the reason is because there are three additional state that are offering legal sports betting this year. These states are Kansas, Ohio and Massachusetts for a total of 33 states and Washington D.C. In addition, Maryland now has mobile sports betting available which will also increase these numbers. Thus, more than half of all Americans adults now live in a market where sports betting is legal.

Furthermore, the number of geolocations available for legal gambling was at 550 million geolocations during the NFL playoffs.  Using this information, the increase in sports wagers for the Super Bowl will be significant.

In addition, Eilers & Krejcik Gaming Research predicts that 10 to 15 percent of all wagers will be live-betting format. Out of all Super Bowl bets, 15 to 20 percent of them will come in the form of same-game parlay.

At the moment, the NFL betting consensus is in favor of the Eagles winning with 66 percent of the bets.
