The Osaka prefecture in Japan is looking for a commercial partner to host a casino resort to help the tourism. Thus, today an announcement was made that Osaka is now taking applications for a Casino Resort Partner. Furthermore, the application for Osaka’s Request-for-Concept (RFC) application will begin on April 25 and end on May 24.
The Osaka City government wants to have a joint operation to run a casino resort on a 49 hectares area. According to several gambling news agencies, Yumeshima island is the most likely location for the casino resort project in Osaka.
Osaka Casino RFC Application Details
In order to qualify for the Osaka Casino RFC project, companies will have to meet requirements by the national government. Gambling analysts believe that many casino operators will compete for the Casino RFC partnership. This is because Japan has set a limit of only three casino resorts for the entire country. Thus, several companies have shown interest which includes several online casino companies to even large sportsbook pay per head operators.
Once the application stage is over, the companies will then have until the end of August to make a submission.
According to the Osaka RFC requirements, the submission needs to also include several core attributes. These attributes include: convention capacity, attractions to promote Japan and its culture, a large scale hotel and more.
In addition, the casino resort partner will also need to make an outline for responsible gambling. Thus, they will need to submit a plan to fight gambling addiction and to ensure the safety of the community.
The local government expects to examine all submission between August and October of 2019. During that time, they will examine and discuss all applications. Furthermore, the basic policy will also be made available to the public by the Osaka authorities during that time period.
If all goes well, Osaka will be able to place a bid with the national government to be one of the casino resorts in Japan.
