Korean women's basketball team wins at Asian Games

North and South Korea have been playing as unified team for the 2018 Asian Games and  have shown their mettle. The latest headline comes in the wake of the Korean women’s basketball team wins at Asian Games. The idea of a unified team was hailed as a political move that has transcended into a great winning move.

Korean women's basketball team wins at Asian GamesThe Korean Women’s’ basketball team vanquished Indonesia 108-40 on Wednesday at the Asian Games. Furthermore, the team also included three North Korean basketball players. The team was made up of South Korean player Park Hyejin , Ro Suk Yong, Jang Mi Gyong and Kim Hye Yon.  Them along with nine other player from South Korea made up the bulk of team.

The Korean team has been bonding for several months and their hard work is paying off.

“The joint training period that we have to go through ahead the games was very short” said Park.  However, “that was not an obstacle because we are all very happy with this unification.”

In addition, Ro scored 22 points while Kim scored another 14 points against.  The match itself took place in Indonesia at the 2,500-situate ball lobby at the Bung Karno Sports Center.

The North Korean players quickly went to the changing room after the amusement.

The field was half-filled for the amusement, with around 100 Korean fans wearing white T-shirts and caps, some thumping conventional drums and others waving banners.

Basketball is one of three games in which the Koreas will handle joint squads at the Asian Games, alongside paddling and kayaking. South Korea is the protecting Asian Games champion in ladies’ ball.

“Our objective until further notice is to win a gold decoration. We don’t consider our objective after this, we are right now concentrating on the Asian Games,” Park said. “We do trust that the bound together Korea group can proceed, in ball, as well as in different games and this will prompt unification in different fields.”
