Kangwon Land Casino to officially be able to operate for longer opening hours. In a recent announcement by the firm, includes offering a further 20 gaming tables on its casino floor.
How Is The Casino Allowed to Operate?
According to reports on online casino Korea, Kangwon Land Inc. confirms the longer opening hours of its casino through an official filing. It details that the venue in Gangwon Province will soon operate for up to 20 hours every day.
Also, the approval is featuring a complement of up to 180 gaming tables. It will offer Blackjack with the highest betting odds, Baccarat, Roulette, and Big Wheels. And will be on the mass-market section of the casino floor only when it fully reopens.
Coronavirus Pandemic Effect On The Casino
Kangwon Land Casino is the only casino in South Korea that permits its locals to gamble. Alongside with foreign tourists as the venue is approximately 150 kilometers from Seoul. Kangwon Land is 51% owned by the government, with the remaining 49% is on the Korea Exchange.
On May 8, Kangwon’s VIP section reopens after closing the whole property for almost three months. It was due to the crisis to fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The company at the time with an estimate of total loss during the closure to be KRW267.8 billion— to compare with the average daily casino sales in 2019.
