A statewide shutdown of casinos in Nevada has ordered by the governor. It also includes hotels and other non-essential businesses starting noon Wednesday. According to gambling news sources, it will last for 30 days to help slow down the spread of coronavirus.
The virus infected 55 people, including one person who died in Clark County. Almost 8,000 lives had claimed globally with nearly 200,000 infections.
Non-essential businesses such as dine-in restaurants, gyms, bars, and malls will close for 30 days. However, the essential businesses will remain open. These include grocery stores, banks, pharmacies, hardware stores, and shops offering takeout food that will continue open.
How the Industry Reacts on the Statewide Shutdown of Casinos?
The Nevada Resort Association says it will continue to work closely not just with the governor and the Gaming Control Board. But will also be working with state and local public health agencies.
