Caesars Entertainment has shown an interest in opening a casino in Danville, and it appears like this may happen sooner than originally planned.
More than a year before Caesars Virginia opens its $650 million casino hotel resort in the same site, the firm wants to establish a temporary casino at Schoolfield.
Executives from Caesars Entertainment discussed the intentions three times during Tuesday’s earnings conference with investors.
Temporary Casino in Danville Is On Caesars’ Radar
Caesars President and COO Anthony Carano also made mention of the company’s future endeavors.
During an interview on Wednesday, Danville City Manager Ken Larking confirmed the company’s intentions.
Larking said he knew nothing further about the makeshift casino.
According to online casinos Korea sources, Danville voters approved a casino ballot issue in 2020, and the question specified a site in Schoolfield, therefore according to Larking, the casino must be built there.
If Danville’s casino is built faster than projected, the city’s share of the gaming tax will come in sooner than predicted, too.

According to Larking, the casino is required to be built on the Schoolfield property since it is specified in the casino ballot question that Danville voters approved in November of 2020.
